Eromit recognizes and salutes the hard work and dedication of search and rescue volunteers in helping out when disaster strikes. We were particularly touched by the efforts of the search and rescue teams that attended the avalanche tragedy in Sparwood in December of 2008 that took the lives of eight young men. We have been inspired to give back to these types of volunteers. Starting in 2010, we pledge to donate one puppy per year to an experienced certified search and rescue handler in Canada or the U.S.
Our breeding program cultivates the temperament, drive, and soundness that is essential to a good search and rescue dog and it is our hope that these puppies will be able to make a difference to their search and rescue teams, their communities, and to our world as a whole.
Interested parties may apply for a puppy by filling out the form below. In order to be considered, you should be a member of a recognized search and rescue team and should have prior experience training a search and rescue dog. Applicants from Canada and the U.S. will be considered. The donated puppy will be selected from an appropriate litter upon consultation of the successful candidate.
We are now accepting applications for a 2011 puppy (closing date Oct 31, 2010). The successful candidate will be notified on or around November 15th.
***Please stay tuned - the selected handler for 2010 will be announced once the specific puppy has been chosen!***
